AKONG MAGTUTUDLO, AKONG BAYANI

Kanus-a kini natuman? Aduna bay nahitabo?
Akong magtutudlo, akong bayani!
Oo, adunay kakapoy, kasakit, kalisdanan ug kamatayon nga mahimong sagubangon. Pagmalig-on! “Akong magtutudlo, akong bayani, Dayon, kay ikaw man nagmatinud-anon!”

Baga Cave Adventure By: Princess Jenn

Waterfalls in Baga  Cave

I am one of the most adventurous people I know in the Island of Talikud. The opportunity to finally find my perfect adventure is at hand. I was one of the twelve and the only girl in the group. We were heading towards the ultimate adventure of our life…. Baga Cave Adventure, which aim to find the falls, the only falls in the whole island of Talikud which is found inside the cave… Baga cave is found in the beautiful Island of Talikud, Island Garden City of samal.

Baga cave is really amazing! GOD perfectly made it. It was like you go to other dimension when you’re inside the cave. We forgot that we were still in Talikud Island that time.  We found different rocks formation. What a beauty! It was wonderful. We also found there the sanctuary of bats hiding inside the cave and waiting until its dark outside.

Our ultimate goal was the falls inside the cave. We were all very hopeful to find it. My companions went there more than ten times but they did not make it to the falls. Sometimes, you hardly breathe inside because of lack of oxygen. This is usually the reason why they didn’t make it. Our journey inside is not that not easy. We walked….. we climbed….we crawled…. Sometimes we performed duck walk… and lastly, we swam. The place is really one of a kind. So far, I found my perfect adventure.

After three hours of journey, experiencing little oxygen inside, we were still hopeful to find something inside until finally we heard a sound of waterfall. We were all excited and hurried to discover what it was. Alas! It was true, the falls inside the cave. Mixed emotions…. Happy, excited, overwhelm. We enjoyed swimming, picture and video taking. We leave some remembrance. We stayed for a while. After we satisfied ourselves, we headed back….
Another three hours journey back to the real world.

It was such an experienced. An experienced I will surely treasure and something I will share to others. It was such a fulfillment!....

It happened on Sunday, May 28, 2006. 1:00PM to 7:00PM.

CACTUS (Poem) By: Princess Jenn

What can I say?
In this large group
Of usually leafless plants
From family of cactaceae.

It grows in arid regions
Having thickly, fleshy
And often prickly stems
Amazing plants it seems.

Cactus, that’s the name
It means a lot to me
It symbolizes survival,
Endurance and perseverance.

It continues to exist
In a dry and barren land
A great survivor, a good example
That’s the wonder of cactus..

I SEEK YOU FOR I THIRST: GOD IN MY LIFE (My reflection)

I remember the time that I was so upset. I was in the darkest side of my life that I can see no light. All were dark. Then, I met this MAN in time that I was so down and I need someone who can talk to, someone I can lend on, someone who cares, someone who loves and gives me advices and words of wisdom. Suddenly, I see light. HE light up my life. There was an unexplainable feelings rippled through within me. From that moment, my personal relationship with HIM grows and develops. I treated Him like my own father whom I share secrets with and provides me in times of need.
Who is this MAN? He is JESUS, the GOD of my life. He is my brother and my best friend whom I share my problems and sorrows and my joy and happiness. He really inspires me a lot. I know HIM more every day since the time I met HIM. I learned so much from HIM. His experiences and suffering on the cross   gave me strength and courage to face my own trials and difficulties. In times of problems and I feel like giving up, I feel so ashamed. If I were to compare my misery with HIM, it was nothing. Our sufferings here are just like dirt on our nail compare to HIS sufferings on the cross.
When I experience hardships, the more I feel HIS presence in my life because it reminds me of HIM. He is so good. He never abandons me. Many times, I prove it through my experiences.  I know GOD has a reason for allowing things to happen. It just that sometimes it’s really hard to understand HIS hidden purposes. Just keep on believing and have faith in HIM.
GOD will make a way when it seems to be no way.

My Teacher, My Hero!

Teacher is really a hero... Imagine life without a teacher. What would it be? Where would we be?....Without a teacher, I could only imagine a very difficult life. It's like living in the darkness.
A blackout! That we crave for a light to guide us and find the right way. Teacher is a torch that light our way; A hero that inspires us.... Teachers are not always right, but with their  imperfectness, we learned and we try not to do the same mistakes...
I could only agree that my teacher is my hero. To all the teachers in the world, i salute you.

Life in Talicud Island

What is life in Talicud Island? Would it be as colorful as a night life in the city? Or would it be as peaceful as living in the mountain?

Life in Talicud Island is colorful in its own way. It is as blue as seas and sky. It is red as sunset and fire. It is as yellow as ripened wheat and sun bleached hair. It is as green as the coconut leaves. But what gives color to life is the colorful heart of individual. Life here is far different from life in the city. No malls where you can stroll around and enjoy many things, no big hotel and restaurants; no internet cafe; no colorful night life and above all, no irritable traffic. Instead, you can find exotic beach resort where you can relax after long day of work.
You can watch the fishermen pulling their fishing net; you can stretch in the sun, breathe fresh air and soak in breathtaking sights along Talicud Island. Capture reflection on film as the aquamarine waters absorb the sky and all that surrounds the shoreline.
Life in Talicud Island is very simple. That is why; there are many people who find it hard to live here. They tried to move to other places to seek their luck. Many people failed to appreciate the gifts of this island. For me, this island is a treasure. It is my home. It is where I experienced the beauty of life, where there are sights and sounds, laughter and learning, motion and emotion, and the wonder of this island.
Wherever I may reach in my journey, I will surely comeback in my homeland, Talicud Island.
